The American
Association for Cancer Research and United States National Cancer
Institute are pleased to announce travel grants that aim to enhance
the quality of cancer research worldwide. The AACR is now accepting
applications for grants to support attendance at the AACR 98th
Annual Meeting, to be held April 14-18, 2007 in Los Angeles,
California, United States.
The grants will
provide significant financial support for meeting registration,
housing, travel, and incidentals. The AACR will hold an orientation
session for the grant recipients, and will provide mentors to assist
the recipients during the meeting.
WHO MAY APPLY:

Applicants
may be faculty at any level. Students (undergraduate, graduate,
medical), fellows, and any researchers working in the United
States are not eligible for these grants.

Applicants
must be residing and conducting research in countries where
opportunities for scientific advancement are limited, defined as
low- and middle- income countries as designated by the World

Applicants
must be actively engaged in a program of cancer research, and
must have a record of cancer-focused publications in
peer-reviewed scientific journals. Patient case reports are not
applicable.

Applicants
must hold a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent).

Applicants do
not need to submit an abstract to receive a grant.
HOW TO APPLY:
Candidates must

letter of support from your department head or dean.
